Whitby

Whitby is an ideal holiday centre. It is an old fishing port with water sports and miles of sandy beaches, the home of Captain Cook, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The moors, woods and villages - 'Heartbeat' country are wonderful for walking and exploring. The cathedral city of York is an hour away. Click here for Google Maps

East Cliff Cottages are below the cliff in the old quarter of town between the Abbey steps and the sea in a narrow cobbled street leading from Market Square to the East Pier. Shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants are just down the street past the 199 Abbey steps. Over the harbour bridge, a short walk away are the larger shops, entertainments, fish quay, railway and bus station.
